Bell Island Murals
Wabana, on Bell Island, has several murals that depict the
history of the community. I have photographed them several times
over the years and this morning I am sharing three: the first was taken in
1993 using Kodachrome slide film, the second in 2001 using an Olympus 2100
digital camera, and the third in 2013 using my Canon EOS
digital camera. As you can see from the colour of the bricks, the
lighting was different for each photo. You can also see that the
paint has begun to deteriorate over the 20 year period.
I've uploaded a few more comparison images (21 images in all) of other murals for those of you
who are interested.
