Wood Islands

Wood Islands

Wood Islands is a ferry terminal on PEI, and I have been there when I arrived on a ferry from Nova Scotia. It has a nice lighthouse and there are several fishing shacks and boats. You can view the pictures I took there by clicking this link - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.835598164920287&type=3

Doves

Doves

I have photographs of three different types of doves, all of which were taken in southwest Florida. There are mourning doves on the island of Newfoundland, but I haven't seen any around my house in Holyrood. They are beautiful birds and while they are normally skittish, when they are sitting in a nest, you can get very close to them. I have two Facebook albums featuring my photos of dove and I have provided links below:

Rescue on Sulphur Mountain

Rescue on Sulphur Mountain

I was atop Sulphur Mountain in 1988 when a helicopter rescue occurred while I was there. I took a few pictures from a distance. My zoom lens made it possible to get fairly close views. I could see that the woman was in a lot of pain, and I admired the paramedics and realized that they do not have an easy job.

I took a few more pictures, and you can view them here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1138332719673028&type=3

Aquaforte

Aquaforte

If you drive along the Irish Loop, you will probably drive by the Town of Aquaforte. On one occasion, I drove into the community and took a few pictures that you can view in my Aquaforte Facebook Album - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2045452765595492&type=3

Trinity Hall

Trinity Hall

When St. Luke's Anglican Church was deconsecrated and put up for sale, the people were worried what would happen to the beautiful building. But when Greg Wells, a well-known music producer from Los Angeles in California,  purchased it and decided to make it into a music recording studio and performance venue, it was brought back to life! Now the building has been renovated and is being used instead of deteriorating, like many other churches that have shuttered around Newfoundland and Labrador.

My mom was from Winterton, and I visited the community many times as a child and an adult! I created an album with pictures of the official opening, and I have been there several times since. You can view my album here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.443957257733845&type=3

Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies

Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies

When I was a kid, I thought these were monarch butterflies, and it was much later that I learned their real name. No matter what you call them, they are very beautiful - probably the most beautiful butterfly in this area! I've started a new album where I'll be posting pictures of these beautiful creatures!

I have provided links to both albums below:

Bellevue Beach

Bellevue Beach

I have been to Bellevue Beach many times and have enjoyed each and every visit! While the beach is not sandy, there are a few sandy areas. It is very scenic, and if you enjoy long walks on a beach, you will love it! If you enjoy taking pictures, you will also love it!

I have 2 Facebook Albums featuring photos I have taken there and I have provided links below!

Atlantic Puffins

Atlantic Puffins

This is the time of the year to photograph puffins in Newfoundland and Labrador. There are 2 places where you can see them: Witless Bay and Elliston. In Witless Bay, you need to take a tour boat, but in Elliston, you can take pictures from land.

I have provided links to my Facebook Album below:
