January 31

Last year was the first in many that we, along with many Canadian friends, didn't spend a couple of months in Florida.  As a result, I created an album for each day in January, February and March that showed a selection of photos taken on each day in previous years.  It helped me, and many others, realize what a great place Bonita Terra (formerly known as Citrus Park) is to spend the winter.

You can view the album for January 31 here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=kbrucelanetravel&set=a.1719272771579017

I won't do the same again this year, because most of them are in Florida this year! However, the albums are still available on my Travel Page.

Grand Falls Parades

Grand Falls Parades

When I lived in Grand Falls from 1973 - 1981, I photographed many Labour Day and Christmas Parades and I recently scanned many prints.  Many of the photos were printed in the Advertiser, but most of these photos haven't been shared previously.  The kids in the photos are in their 40s and 50s now.  I am sharing them on the Grand Falls-Windsor Historical Society page and, most of the people are being identified!

You can view my album here, but if you want to find names, please go to the historical society's page - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2095213300619438&type=3

Texas

In 1990, I was in Texas for a couple of weeks on business and took a side trip to San Antonio where an annual Folk Festival was being held.  Today's photos were taken on that trip and today, I started a new album on my Travel Page in which I will share the photos, starting with photos of people, including a few of kids who were listening to the music.  The kids are in their thirties now.

You can follow this album here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1987584541414504&type=3

Oderin - Miniature Village

Near St. Mary's, a person created a miniature village that represented the little town in which he grew up. I stopped to photograph it in 2003 and spoke to the gentleman who was working on it.  He told me about the trouble the government was giving him because when people stopped to look at it, they caused a traffic problem.  I assumed posting photos of the tiny village would give him a little promotion and I added the photos to a gallery on my web site.

I decided to share those photos after nearly 20 years.  I don't even know if it still exists today.  However, you can view what it looked like back then here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2115163651957736&type=3

I plan to add 4 photos a day for a few days.

Italy

Over the past week or so, I have been uploading photos to my Italy Album on Facebook.  Included are photos of the countryside, many of which were taken from a bus as I was headed to an excursion  destination.

I am just about finished the album for now and you can view it here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1946457935527165&type=3

Helicopters

My Voisey's Bay photos included many images of helicopters at work so I decided to add them to my helicopters album as well.  In this album you will find photos I have taken of helicopters over the years.  Of course, at no time did I get a better opportunity to photograph helicopters than during my trip to Voisey's Bay in 1996.
