PEI 12

PEI 12

These are the last images of "Footprints in the Sand", all of which were taken on a beach near Morrell, PEI.   As you will see from these and the photos uploaded to my Blog today, footprints look different depending on how wet or deep the sand is..  In some places footprints were hardly visible, but in wet or deep sand the footprints are very easy to see and photograph.

PEI 11

PEI 11

For the next 2 days I plan to share a group of photos I call "Footprints in the Sand"  All were taken on the beach I walked several times while visiting PEI.  I photographed the tracks of quite a large bird which I compared with my size 10 sneaker tracks.  After I saw a great blue heron I believe it made the large tracks.

Check my Blog to see 14 images of a variety of "Footprints in the Sand" including human, dog and bird tracks.

PEI 10

PEI 10

Today I am sharing the last of the photos from our visit to Charlottetown.  I walked over to the street parallel to Queen Street and saw Government House, where the Fathers of Confederation met in 1864.  I walked around the large building then down the street making photos as I headed back to my vehicle.  Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go into the historic buildings.

PEI 9

PEI 9

As I stated yesterday, my wife and I walked along Queen Street in downtown Charlottetown viewing the local markets.  There was quite a variety pf stalls selling fresh vegetables, knitted goods, photographs, jewellery, preserves, cooked food, wooden sculptures and furniture.  I also photographed a few interesting doors as we walked along the street.

Since Charlottetown was the location of one of the first meetings of the Fathers of Confederation, there are several bronze statues in the downtown area.  The last photo shows John A. MacDonald sitting on a bench.  It was interesting to watch people being photographed with the statue 150 years after the meeting was held.

Feel free to share today's photos with family and friends.
