January 31

January 31

I don't think any day is "normal" when I am in Bonita Terra with a camera. There is so much to see and photograph and nearly every time I leave my unit with my camera, I see something to take photos of.  On January 31 I photographed a great blue heron sitting on its nest, an alligator sunbathing, several rabbits being frisky, several types of flowers, and a beautiful cloud at sunset.

January 30

January 30

When I started to photograph an anhinga early in the day, I realized it was having a bad "hair" day. It was a beautiful day after a couple days of rain and the reflections were beautiful.  Of course there were an alligator or two enjoying the warmth!

January 29

January 29

In 2016, the second day after a rainstorm, the weather was beautiful.  However, I had to turn back a few times because there was still too much water on the roads.  It took several days before water levels returned to normal. I was also in the park in 2019, and it was just another beautiful day in SW Florida!

January 28

January 28

After all the rain on January 27, it continued to rain on the following day, though not as hard or as much.  I drove around the park and took photos of the water that was around.  I can only imagine what it was like during Hurricane Irma.  I did see one brave squirrel that day!

January 27

January 27

I was surprised to find that I didn't have any photos for January 27, however, I know the reason.  We had rain, heavy rain for most of the day.  I went out the following day and took photos of the amount of water that was around the park.  I am sharing some of those photos today.  Note that it was still raining on January 28 as well.
