Believe it or not, there is a castle in a little cove in St. Margaret's Bay. There wasn't a lot of room to manoeuvre but we got in close enough to get a few nice photos of this interesting home. I was told the island was originally built on an island but a causeway now joins it to mainland Nova Scotia.

I know this castle well, and spent many happy hours inside it as a child. It was built by our family friend, Max Manger, who began construction on the lower, stone-based half in the 1970's. The upper, more stucco-based portion was finished in a great hurry in the late 80's after Max suffered a near fatal accident during construction. His wife, Gigi, was a local legend famous for her wild New Year's parties here which I can recall vividly (despite the fact they were generally NOT kid-friendly).

Wilderbeast - can you tell me more about this castle and what it is like on the inside? Are you allowed to enter it still on this day?
I have a few pics of the place when Max was building the lower part. Looks amazing now.
