Reptiles

I was tempted to submit a photo of the iguana shown in the first image to the blue and green contest held last week, but decided against it because there wasn't a lot of contrast between the green and blue. These animals were in a large aquarium that was well lit, enabling me to shoot through the glass (without a flash) to make images of the two reptiles that inhabited the small enclosure located in the Calgary Zoo.

Recently, someone discovered a snake in the wild on the island of Newfoundland. Until now, we have had no snakes on the island portion of our province. It is speculated that someone had pet snakes and let them go, but it is also possible they were hidden on trucks that came here from the mainland of Canada. A few years ago someone was stung by a scorpion that was hidden in a box of bananas.
