The Rockies 1

In June I shared a few photos of the Rocky Mountains and am returning to that series for a few days. The photos today were taken during a visit to Banff on a beautiful sunny day in May. The first photo shows a mountain with just a little snow left after the winter. There are also trees growing very near the summit. The peak on the mountain in the second photo was also nearly free of snow, which was interesting because most mountains still had quite a lot of snow on them. There is a lot more snow on the mountain in the third image and the trees are growing a lot further down the steep face.

The river in the fourth and fifth photos were fairly high, which is understandable when you see all the snow that is melting off the mountains that time of the years.
