All of today’s photos were taken near Bay Roberts, Conception Bay. 

 

I enjoy the challenge of capturing a wave as it reaches its maximum splash over the rocky shores.  I often say I am trying to capture the perfect wave, however, I have many images of the water spraying over the rocks and many of them express exactly what I saw.  The last photo shows a sea stack which has been shaped by wave action over hundreds of thousands or millions of years.

Today I am starting a new Seascapes Series.  All photos were taken near Bay Roberts, Conception Bay. 

 

Living near the ocean offers many opportunities to make photographs of waves crashing against the rocky shores of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Imagine the forces of water as it relentlessly washes over solid rock eroding the shoreline.

Thanks for the positive comments on yesterday’s food photos.  I am sharing a few more today and will return to this them at a later date.

 

I have many photos of homemade bread and cookies, all of which were made by my wife.  The tomato came from a plant that I grew several summers ago.  I haven’t had much success with tomatoes and don’t bother with them anymore. I also grew the potatoes and still plant them every year.  The apples on a tree were taken in front of my house and the others were taken at a local supermarket.  If I attend functions where there is food, I often make photos.  The photo of a cheese plate photo was made at a friend’s wedding.

Today, I thought I’d share photos that should remind you of warmer times.  I photograph fruits and vegetables wherever I go and have quite a collection.  

 

I have photos from farmer’s markets in Europe, Asia, the USA and Canada and have shared many since starting my Photo of the Day in 2003. I searched for “food” on my photo of the day Blog and got many images.  However, it also shows images that are on pages where I used the word “food” in my comments.  When I checked my website I noticed that I don’t have a Gallery of food photos.  Another future project for me.
