Apples

Apples

When I moved to Holyrood, I was happy that my house had a mature apple tree.  We soon learned that that particular tree produced LOTS of apples every second year.  In other years, there were only a few.  The apples are delicious, but only after a heavy frost.  They are still a little bitter before that.

However, I photographed the apple blossoms and fruit many times over the years.

Food 3

Food 3

During a visit to Nova Scotia, I photographed several types of apples in a farmer's market.  The apples were in large tubs and I made several shots of each variety.

Yard

Yard

Today's photos were taken in my yard in Holyrood on June, 2006.

When I finished my hike, I walked around my yard and made a few photos.  Can you imagine how many photos I have taken in my yard in the 35 years I have lived in Holyrood?

Comments are welcome!

Apples

Apples

Despite the weather this summer, there are lots of apples on our apple tree this year. There was a light frost on everything this morning which makes this particular variety of apple much sweeter. Usually after a frost, I pick enough apples for a few tasty apple pies. :)
