Drop Zone 2
If you can imagine stepping over the roof of a 150 foot building while holding on to a rope, you will know how the participants of the Easter Seals Drop Zone felt in mid-August when they raised over $50 000 for disabled kids in Newfoundland and Labrador.
As I stated yesterday, I photographed people as they made their way down the side of Atlantic Place; some from the ground while looking up and others from the roof looking down. Looking down was the hardest of course because I was leaning out over the roof with two cameras hanging around my neck. I was shooting wider shots with the Nikon, and closer views with my Canon EOS. Changing cameras was a lot easier than changing lenses in that situation.
Most of the participants were a little nervous as they took that first step, but they all completed their drops successfully and felt a lot better when they reached the ground below. Hats off to our local "heroes" and if you are interested in participating next year, give the local Easter Seals office a call.
