Venice 9

Venice 9

This morning I am sharing more early-morning photos of the streets and canals of Venice. As I walked through these historic streets I thought of all the people who have walked there throughout the history of the city. All going about their daily business raising families, living ... but in very different times.

Gondoliers were getting their gondolas ready for another day's work. Locals were heading to and from the bakeries and other shops that were just opening. A few were enjoying a morning walk ... all going about their daily business. :)

As you can see form the photos, some of the canals are also very narrow . I am not sure if they have one-way canals, but a few were so narrow, I am not sure two boats could pass.

Photos of the Day are for sale as stock photographs
and photographic enlargements.
They can also be purchased as slide shows
and/or wallpapers/screensavers.
