People

As you walk around Ross Farm you will see people doing their daily chores. While they are employees of the Nova Scotia Museum, they have learned the skills required to do things as they were done in the past. They dress in period costumes (most of which they make themselves), make tools, cut hay, house animals, shear sheep, spin wool, churn butter, saw wood, forge metal, make barrels - nearly everything they used to do on a farm 100 - 150 years ago. I have shared photos of many of these things in previous posts.

Today I am sharing more candid photos of people around the farm. The guys in the first photo were standing in the shade and knew I had a camera. The blacksmith was talking to another visitor and was looking down towards a little girl who was playing with a cowbell. The lady working by the side of the cottage had no idea I was nearby.

I have created a new Ross Farm web site including all the themes I have been sharing over the past week. Feel free to check it out at: http://lanephotography.com/ross_farm/ross_farm.htm
