Plants

Plants
June 22, 2015

Yesterday I decided to use a different lens to shoot macro images of the plants around my yard. I used my 28-80 mm lens with a 2x doubler attached. This combination allows me to get close to the subject with a shallow depth of field. This is a disadvantage, especially if it is windy like it was yesterday. As a result, many of the photos I made were out of focus and had to be deleted.

Today I am sharing close views of rhododendron and shasta daisy blooms about to open. This will give you an idea of the progress of our summer. I know the rhododendrons in Central Newfoundland were in full bloom this weekend so we are a bit behind. Of course, the further inland you go on the island of Newfoundland, the warmer the temperatures.

Feel free to share today's photos with family and friends.
