Fall 12
Tonight Hurricane Gonzalo is supposed to past just south of the Avalon Peninsula at a Category 2 storm and we should get high winds and lots of rain (up t0 50 mm - around 2 inches) in 3 hours. Residents are being told to stock up on essentials and have plenty of batteries, candles and gas in case the power goes off.
When Hurricane Igor made landfall as a Category 1 storm in 2010, it caused a lot of damage and one death. We are hoping that this one does miss us!!
