Dewberries
When I moved into my house in 2007, there were little red berries growing in one area. At first I thought they were raspberries, but they were too early and very low to the ground. They tasted delicious so I picked a bunch and made a little sauce which we put on ice cream. It was also very delicious. When I checked on line I discovered that they were dewberries.
Interestingly, not too many people I spoke to ever heard of dewberries. People from some parts of the province call them plum boys, and there are probably other local names for them.
