I think the new list is working well even though I lost over 100 names from the it during the transfer to a different computer.


This is Day 2 of the current Red Bay Series and the images were taken during an early morning  walk around the town.  It was a beautiful calm and clear morning and perfect for making images.  There wasn't a ripple on the water which made excellent reflections.

Red Bay

Today I am starting a new series of photos from my photo trip to Red Bay, Labrador in July, 2004.  For those of you who were on my Photo of the Day list back then, some of the images may be repeats, but back then I was uploading only one photo each day so I am certain you didn’t see most of the images I will share over the next couple of days.


I arrived in Red Bay in the late evening and by the time I checked into my hotel and ate dinner, it was getting dark.  That night I photographed a display of the northern lights, then arose before sunrise to photograph the community in the early morning light.

Today is the last in my Pilley's Island Series and I have included several abstract photos taken around fishing stages and a few around the church. The last photo was taken in the early 90s.

Pilley's Island is located in scenic Green Bay.  I've driven through the community several times but only once took the time to drive the side roads and make photos of the town. The photos in this series were taken during that trip in 2003.

Pilley's Island

Pilley's Island

Today's photos were taken the same day in July, 2003.  It was foggy as I drove through the community of Pilley's Island in Green Bay but on the way back the fog had lifted and it was a beautiful sunny day.


I included a couple of photos of mussel farms in the area because it shows how the fishing industry has changed, and continues to change,  in this province.
