Over the past few days our local news broadcasts have been showing icebergs that are located just outside St. John's Harbour. I sent photos of one of them a few days ago. A tourism operator from Battle Harbour said that there are over 3000 icebergs between Labrador and Notre Dame Bay. A 'bumper crop" was how he described the iceberg season this year.
This evening, I am sending two photos of icebergs that were taken 20 years ago in Conception Bay. I am hoping to get many more as the icebergs travel down iceberg alley.
The first photo shows an iceberg floating among pack ice. The second photo shows the same iceberg was taken a couple of weeks later. If you look carefully you can see a small boat near the centre of the image.
