American White Pelican 5

 

This is the last in my American White Pelican Series showing photographs taken on Sanibel Island, Florida. When I visited this area I actually photographed the birds during high and low tides.  They didn’t move much during the day, but if you look closely, you will see that the water is much lower and the birds are sitting on a sandbar in these images.

 

The white pelican is one of the largest birds in North America and winters in southern US states.
