Norris Point

Norris Point

Norris Point is located in Bonne Bay and is within the boundaries of Gros Morne National Park.  It is a scenic community that I have visited several times. The last three photos above were taken from Neddies Harbour looking toward Norris Point with the Tablelands in the background.

I plan to start a Norris point Gallery soon!

Feel free to share!

Norris Point

Norris Point

Norris Point is located in Bonne Bay on the Great Northern Peninsula. Like Woody Point, photos of which I shared yesterday, this community is also within the borders of Gros Morne National Park. Since I have visited this community often, I was surprised to find that I don't have very many photos of the actual community. Most are wide shots showing the scenery of the area.

The first image was taken from a look-out overlooking part of Bonne Bay. The town across the bay is Woody Point. The second was taken from Neddies Harbour looking towards Norris Point with the Tablelands in the background. The last is an older image that was scanned from a slide taken in the mid-eighties.

You will notice that a few of the images are similar. I included them to let you see that the time of day, lighting, and weather are all factors to keep in mind when making photos of a community. In this case, when I returned to the same area at a different time, I made similar, but different images of the same scene.

Photos of the Day are for sale as stock photographs
and photographic enlargements.
They can also be purchased as slide shows

Norris Point

Norris Point with the Tablelands in the background was the view from Neddies Cove on a beautiful summer day a few years ago. You can see the Tablelands towering in the background of the houses in the first image. I zoomed in and liked the effect my zoom lens had on the mountain in the distance and how close it looked. (It was actually 2- 4 miles from where I was standing.) I also liked the boats in the foreground of the third image.

Today's scenes are from Gros Morne National Park in Bonne Bay. If you are planning a trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, I would recommend you plan to spend a few days the area.

Norris Point

Both images this morning show views of Bonne Bay taken from Norris Point. I used Corel PhotoPaint to create the "painted" version.

I liked the red "store" with a barrel on the stage, the calm water, the folded rocks in the first mountain, and the mountain in the distance. When I tried the "special effect" I really liked it.
