Northern Flicker





Northern Flicker

Since moving to Holyrood nearly 40 years ago, I have only had the opportunity to photograph northern flickers on one occasion even though they are around her all the time.  They are very skittish and fly away as soon as I begin to approach them.  This one, however, was eating ants at the entrance to their nest and it stayed long enough for me to take a few photos.  Hopefully, I'll get more in the future!
