When visitors to the island of Newfoundland leave Port aux Basques, the port of entry, they drive through a scenic area that runs by the Long Range Mountains. These mountains are the northernmost section of the Appalachian Mountain Range found in the eastern United States.
Unfortunately, any time I have been driving by this area, I have been in a hurry and have never had the opportunity to take time to explore the beauty there. Today's photos were taken after a long ferry ride from Nova Scotia in late August, 2005.
