Yesterday after school I visited the Quidi Vidi area of St. John's to photograph the iceberg on a sunny afternoon. Today I am sharing three photos that show people watching the iceberg.
The third photo illustrates how close the iceberg is to the shore and how large it is compared to the people. I was a little nervous that if the berg broke there would be a large wave that could wash the people into the ocean. You can certainly tell it was a nice warm afternoon because the girl in the photo is standing next to a "giant ice cube" with a short sleeve shirt.
There were 6 or 7 icebergs between Quidi Vidi and Cape Spear. They are attracting quite a lot of visitors to Signal Hill and surrounding area.
