The snowshoe hare enclosure often seems empty when I walk by, but on Saturday, we were walking slowly when we saw a hare hiding in the grass very close to the boardwalk. I was able to focus on its eye through the grasses. Then it moved into a more open spot before it hopped away and "disappeared" once more.
I have photographed these hare in my back yard, but it is difficult to get close to them in the wild.
