Butter Cove

Butter Cove

Butter Cove is located Trinity Bay.  To be honest, until I drove down Highway 204 (not too far east of Clarenville off the TCH) I had never heard of the community.

Fishing stages, boats, clear water and houses were the subjects of the photos taken in this community.

As I mentioned yesterday, I did get confused by the road signs and I am not certain if the communities are identified correctly.  If anyone knows for certain if this community is Butter Cove, let me know.

Feel free to share with family and friends.

Southport

Southport

Southport is located in Trinity Bay.  I visited this area in 2004 and made several photos.  I was hoping to go there again this year but didn't get a chance.  To get there, take highway 204 off the TCH.

You will see other communities along the way including Long Beach, Gooseberry Cove, Hodge's Cove, Caplin Cove, Little Heart's Ease, and Butter Cove.  I usually photograph signs welcoming visitors to towns I visit, but I think I missed a couple on the trip to Southport.  If you notice photos in this post that are not Southport, feel free to let me know.

Fort Anne

Fort Anne

Fort  Anne, located in Port Royal, Nova Scotia, is Canada's oldest National Historic site.  I photographed the outside of the site in August, 2006 but, for some reason, didn't share the photos with you or create a web site.

Yesterday I created a gallery with 53 photos and I invite you to view the photos at: http://www.lanephotography.com/Nova%20Scotia/fort-anne/fort-anne.htm

Logy Bay

Logy Bay

For the past 5 days I have participated in a black and white photo challenge on Facebook.  Today I uploaded the first photo to that challenge and decided to share other photos of Logy Bay.

Today's photos were taken at different times in 1981/2 and you can see the sea can get rough there when it is windy.

I have been there many times over the past 33 years and made photos of the cliffs, icebergs, buildings and even the seals that were kept for research purposes.

Feel free to share with family and friends.

Peggy's Cove

Peggy's Cove

In 2003 I visited Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia for the first time.  I was a little disappointed that it was foggy when we arrived, but after a couple of hours it cleared up and got sunny.  As a result, I was able to get foggy and clear photos in the same day.  A few years later I had the opportunity to photograph the lighthouse from a boat on a beautiful clear day.

I have updated my Peggy's Cove Galleries and added more larger images.
