Triton

Triton

Triton is a community located in Green Bay. I have visited this community several times over the years. I've been to Triton East as well and will include photos from there in this album. I am starting the album with colourful photos from 2003.

Jim's Cove

Jim's Cove

Jim's Cove is located near Triton/Card's Harbour in Green Bay.  I always identified this community as Card's Harbour, but was told by a resident that it is actually Jim's Cove.  In many areas of the province, road signs are confusing and, as a result, I occasionally get a community wrong!  Feel free to let me know if you see one!

This morning, I started a new album in which I plan to add all the photos of Jim's Cove.  Feel free to check it out by clicking the link below!

Triton 3

Triton 3

This is the last of my Triton Series for now, and you will see images taken in and around Triton East as well.   I don’t think the fishing stages in today’s photos have changed much since I last photographed it in 2003.

If you would like to compare, check my Triton Gallery at: http://www.lanephotography.com/central/triton/triton.htm

Triton 2

Triton 2

What type of photographic subjects other than fishing stages and boats would you expect to find around the small coves in outport communities?  Today’s photos show a few of the things I photographed during my first stop in Triton.  They include:  items used for fishing, moose antlers, lobster pots, wood, rope, and doors.

Triton

Triton

The next community on our photo trip was Triton, a scenic community in Notre Dame Bay. As you can see from today’s photos, these stages are located behind the buildings along the main street.  If I wasn’t looking for photographic subjects, I probably would have driven by without seeing this part of the town.

Gone Forever

Gone Forever

In a recent post, I shared photos of houses and sheds that are in bad shape and that I make photographs of old houses because they may soon be gone forever.  This morning, I am sharing photos of houses that no longer exist.

The first was taken in Colliers many years ago and I uploaded a NEW Gallery lat night called Someone Cared.  This photo was taken while the house in the background was in good shape.  If you visit this Gallery you will find a link to several letters from the family that grew up there.  http://www.lanephotography.com/colliers/someone-cared/transitn.htm

The house in Bristol's Hope was nearly gone when I photographed it in the late 80s.  I think it may also have been a post office at one time.

The next two photos show houses in Triton/  I photographed the people living in the old house in the last photo (3 versions) when this photograph was taken in the mid 70s.  I believe the older couple's surname was Windsor and would like to know their names if anyone recognizes the house which was located across from a large fish plant.

Feel free to share today's photos with family and friends.
