Codroy Valley 5

Codroy Valley 5

Newfoundland and Labrador has many beautiful sandy beaches and, like this one in Codroy, most of them don't have many people even on hot days. Other than my two brothers and me, there was only one person - an older gentleman who was walking the beach for exercise. When I asked him if he had seen any piping plovers, he told us he had seen a small flock of little birds a little ways up the beach.

We walked for only a minute when we spotted them but it was difficult to get a good photo because they kept moving away from us. I managed to make a few images with my 70-300 mm lens on full zoom, but can't really identify them as piping plovers. If anyone knows what type of plover this bird is, please let me know.
