Mink

I photographed this mink near a beach in Brigus. Movement in the seaweed caught my attention and when I moved closer I observed the mink hunting among, and under, the seaweed. Every now and again, the mink came up on the rocks in front of me to eat a fresh fish.

Mink are not native to the island of Newfoundland; they were introduced in the 1930s-1940s. I have seem then in many communities across the province.
