Blue Flag Iris







Blue Flag Iris

When winter began, I started a Flower Photo of the Day and have been adding a photo of a flower with a link to my album so you could see more photos of that flower. I wanted to brighten up the winter season for my viewers. The blue flag iris is the 75th flower in my album. I was going to stop the album on the first day of Spring, however, I think I'll continue until the snow is gone, or I reach 100 photos - whichever comes first. :)

Holyrood - Icy Harbour











Holyrood - Icy Harbour 2

For a couple of weeks in March, there was quite a bit of sea ice in Holyrood harbour. I created an album and shared many of the photos I took over the years, but photos of this year can be found in this album - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.221907480349631&type=3

Normally, there are seals in the harbour, but I didn't see any. There may have been one, but I wasn't sure. The shapes and textures in these natural ice sculptures are unique. When you look closely, you will realize that no two pieces of ice are identical. ;)

Victoria - Abstracts










Victoria - Abstracts

I shot quite a few images of trees as I rotated my camera or zoomed in or out on the subject just as I pressed the shutter. I started my new Victoria - Abstracts album on my Facebook Travel Page.

Interestingly, it was while I was in Victoria in 1978 that I visited Emily Carr's House and viewed many of her paintings. When I got back home I read several books about and by her and was intrigued by her work. I started white I used to call my "Emily Carr" period where I shot many experimental images while rotating the camera or zooming on a subject. Obviously, I never got out of that period yet! :)

Sand Dunes

You don't often think of Newfoundland and Labrador when you hear of sand dunes, but we do have them here - lots of them. I am starting this album with photos from the Great Northern Peninsula where there are many dunes.
