The photos with grassy areas were taken as I walked along the golf course in Banff.  It was great to see the mountains through the large trees and open spaces around the golf course.

All the photos I’ve shared of Banff so far in this series were taken as I walked along the trails and roads around the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff.  I also walked along the road next to the golf course and took photos of a few views from the course.  Of course, it is the mountains that are so amazing as they dominate the landscape.

This is the second time I am sending my Photo of the Day from my new computer.  Last night there were a few issues with old addresses being rejected by servers and returned to me, but I dealt with them and updated email addresses where necessary.  Hopefully those issues will have been solved.

 

I haven’t been making many comments about the beautiful mountains in Banff, however, they are AWESOME!!  It is hard to describe in words the feeling I get when looking at the mountains, which dominate the landscape in all directions.  And, believe it or not,  photos don’t really show it: Close views don’t show the numbers of peaks and wide views make the mountains appear smaller.

I am attempting this from my new computer.  I started setting up my new machine on May 10 and have finally found an email program that should send HTML format.  This enables me to format the images, size of text and add appropriate links.  If this email looks different than normal, feel free to reply and I can check it out.

 

On May 6 I hiked along a river trail and made photos of the river, birds, waterfall, rapids and, of course, the awesome mountains.  Several people on this list have been to Banff and have sent feedback about the beauty of the area.  Comments are always welcome.

The photos I am sharing this morning were taken in the early morning during a 3.5 hour hike along the trails around the hotel. These photos were taken near Bow Falls, just below the hotel.

The mountains around this area are AWESOME.
