People

People

Wherever I go I see people making photos of themselves.  In the old days we used to call photos of yourself ,“self portraits” but these days it has been shortened to “selfies”.  Of course, I see photographers making photos of other things as well and I always take photos of them when I can.  Today you will see images of people on Sulphur Mountain in early May.

Banff 15

Banff 15

From the top of Sulphur Mountain I could see snow-capped mountains in every direction.  Today I have included several closer views of the mountains, which I prefer over the wider shots.

Banff 14

Banff 14

Today I have included more images taken from the top of Sulphur Mountain.  You can see that there is still a little snow on top of the mountains, but it was a warm day, even on the summit of one of these large mountains.

Banff 13

As you will see from today’s images, wide shots of the mountains make them see small while close views don’t show the huge numbers of mountains.  Snow on the peaks also makes it difficult to capture the scene.  If I expose for the bright snow, the trees look almost black, and if I expose for the tress, the mountains are much too bright.  As a result, I like the closer views.

Banff 12

Banff 12
The view of the mountains around Banff from the top of Sulphur Mountain is awesome and I think I photographed every one from a variety of angles.
This morning when I was setting up my photo of the Day I noticed that for the past 3 days, my photos did not send. When I checked it out I had to remove one subscriber with a .sympatico address here in Newfoundland.   After I removed the address, the mails went but without images attached.  You can view those images as well as all I have sent so far in this series on my Blog at: http://kbrucelane.blogspot.ca/
In addition, every day approximately 6-10 email addresses are rejected by various servers around the world.  I assume the addresses are no longer valid so I take the addresses off my contact list.  As a result, the numbers on my list have dropped from 750 to 373 – quite a difference.
