Portugal Cove South

Portugal Cove South

In 2002, I travelled the Irish Loop a couple of times and photographed most communities.  After nearly 20 years, I am sure things have changed there.  Today, I am sharing photos of the houses I photographed that beautiful summer day!

Portugal Cove South

Portugal Cove South

I photographed Portugal Cove South in the summer of 2002.  I remember that year because I made 3 trips around the Irish Loop and photographed most communities at least once.

In this community, I photographed several houses and boats and you can view them in my album:

Portugal Cove South 2

Portugal Cove South 2

This is the last day I will be sharing photos of Portugal Cove South.  As I stated yesterday, I photographed houses in this tiny town, several of which were quite colourfl!
You can view all the photos of this community in a Facebook Album.

Portugal Cove South

As you pass through Portugal Cove South and head north, you are heading towards St. John's and the northeast Avalon.

I photographed a few houses and boats in this tiny community.

Portugal Cove South

Portugal Cove South

Portugal Cove South is another small community located on the southern Avalon. Today's photos were taken during a visit in 2002 and when reviewing them to update my Gallery, I found that the main subject photographed that day was Houses.

The side road through this community will take you to Mistaken Point, where you can view the oldest fossils of complex life forms found anywhere in the world. It will also take you to Cape Race where you will find an interesting lighthouse and telegraph station which played an important role in the Titanic story.

I updated my Portugal Cove South Gallery and you can view the 18 photos at: http://www.lanephotography.com/irish_loop/portugal_cove_south/portugal_cove_south.htm
