We returned to the Magic Kingdom in the evening to see the electric parade. People were choosing places at 7:00 for the 9:00 parade.  We didn't bother and took the kids to Fantasyland to see Winnie the Pooh attraction.  When we had been there earlier there was an estimated 55 minute wait for the 3 minute ride, but this time  the line was much smaller and an estimated 20 minutes. We actually waited 35 minutes and the ride was over very quickly.  I am not sure it was worth the wait.

Afterwards we headed for main street to find a spot to watch the parade and were disappointed that we could not get near the front.  Instead we were back about 10 feet with people ahead of us.  We then waited for 40 minutes before the parade started.  It was phenomenal but I didn't really get a good view for photos.  I videotaped the floats with my Nikon P500 as they passed in front of us and was somewhat pleased with the result considering there were people's heads in all the clips.

This morning I am sharing photos of the castle which was bathed in different coloured lights as the day changed into night. These images were taken with the Nikon P500 as well.  I have mentioned previously that this camera is good for low-light photography.

The Jungle Cruise attraction was one of my favourite in 1980 and it was again this trip.  The animals are so realistic that Sam and Anna (aged 3 1/2 and 2) believed that they were real.  They were amazed to be so close to the elephants, crocodiles and other animals as we watched them from a boat.  When Sam asks to see photos of Disney World, he asks to see the Jungle Cruise.

The only slide I had of this attraction was a happy-looking elephant sitting under a waterfall and I was a little disappointed that I was on the opposite side of the boat this time and was shooting with a wide angle lens.  That elephant is on the left side of one of the photos this morning.

The animals we saw on the Jungle Cruise were animated - elephants moving their trunks and spraying water, crocodiles opening and closing their mouths, hippos coming to the surface - which made them seem very real!

Because the Magic Kingdom is so big, we went back again for another day. This time we went in the early morning then took the kids back to the resort for a break during the heat of the day. Later, we went back in the evening to see the electric parade.

The photos I am sharing on the email version of my Photo of the Day highlight kids at the Magic Kingdom. Everywhere young girls dressed as Tinker Bell walked around in very uncomfortable-looking shoes. I hope parents had back-up walking shoes because I am sure their daughters' feet were sore after walking around the the large theme park for any length of time. Many of the young boys were dressed as pirates complete with costumes, beards and, in many cases, swords or other weapons.

My granddaughter Anna posed for a photographer as she held her hands together under his direction. The resulting photo had Tinker Bell standing in her hands. When a photographer takes a photo at Disney World, s/he passes you a card which has a code. Then, afterwards, other photographers will scan your card every time they take a photo. Later, you can go to Disney's web site to view all photos taken of you and your family. It is quite an efficient system and I bet they sell a lot of pictures!

The other photos show "pirates" performing near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, several buildings in Adventureland and Main Street, as well as a couple of figurines that were on display in one of the shops.  I took the photos through a window and if you look carefully you will see reflections of people passing by.

I thought you might be interested in seeing a few of the photos I took inside a glass shop in Disney World. As I entered the shop I saw a guy who was heating a piece of glass. He was behind glass, but I made a photo and viewed it in my camera. It looked OK so I photographed several pieces of glass art including a large Magic Kingdom Castle that had a sales tag of $37,500.00

If you check the record number of photos on my Blog this morning you'll see more photos of the parade, more pieces of glass art and a few of photographers making pictures on Main Street. I uploaded so many because I wanted to finish this part of the Disney World Series this morning. For those of you who have let me know that you are enjoying this series, I recommend that you definitely check my Blog today.
