White-throated Sparrow 2

White-throated Sparrow 2

At the beginning of summer, I promised to photograph local birds.  Though I saw many species, I wasn't able to make photos of most of them.

Living in the forest actually makes it harder to photograph birds. I hear many species including chickadees, nuthatches, northern flickers, and a few I didn't recognize.  If I approach with my camera they fly into the trees and disappear.  I saw several bright yellow American goldfinches, a pair of northern flickers, pine grosbeaks, and many smaller birds.  They were all skittish and flew away before I could get photos.

The white-throated sparrows hung around and were fairly easy to photograph. If you would like to view them, I started a new Facebook photo album.

Feel free to share with family and friends.
