Blue Jays

I have lived here in Holyrood for 42 years and there have been blue jays here every year. There is at least one family that lives nearby and they hang around our house all day long. They are interesting and beautiful birds and I enjoy photographing them. Juncos

Juncos

There are always juncos around my yard but I don't take many photos of them. Yesterday, I sat outside and waited for a junco to come close enough to photograph. It wasn't long before a few decided to check out the sunflower seeds that I had left for them. Iceberg - Bryant's Cove

Iceberg - Bryant's Cove

It was a beautiful June 28, 2003, when I photographed a huge iceberg near Bryant's Cove in Conception Bay. I am sharing photos to my second album featuring my photos taken that day. All the photos in this album were taken as I toured the perimeter of this huge tabular iceberg in a small boat. I was excited to be so close and took quite a few photos.

Purple Finches

Purple Finches

Yesterday was so nice that I sat on my deck watching the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks feeding. There were at least 5 male purple finches and I got a few pictures of them that I am adding to my Purple Finches Facebook Album. Dandelions

Dandelions

I am not sure why dandelions are hated so much, but they are! I love seeing the bright yellow blooms in Spring and I am happy they are finally growing in my yard this year. Brown Pelicans in Flight 

Today, I started my second album featuring photos of brown pelicans in flight. These birds are amazing flyers and I enjoy watching them soar along the beaches of SW Florida.

Reddish Egrets
