Salmon Cove Sands

Salmon Cove Sands

The weather is warming up and people will be getting outside more and more.  If you enjoy a day at the beach, consider heading to Salmon Cove in Conception Bay because they have such a great beach.  Today, I am sharing photos of people enjoying the beach.

Icebergs

Icebergs

In 2003, a huge iceberg was grounded in Spaniard's Bay for most of the summer.  I photographed it several times that summer and the photos today were taken on July 3.

You can view my album of photos taken in June that summer when the iceberg was much bigger -  https://www.facebook.com/kbrucelane/media_set?set=a.10160263722405329&type=3&uploaded=3

St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence

In 2011, I drove around the Loop on the Buring Peninsula.  After we left Fortune, it was so foggy that we didn't even see the communities we were driving through.  When we got to St. Lawrence, it was clear enough to take a few photos.

Stained Glass Windows

Stained Glass Windows

These beautiful stained glass windows are in Corpus Christi Church in Northern Bay.  I am not certain, but I think many, if not all, were created by a Newfoundlander.  Maybe someone knows the details and can share.

You can view all my photos of the interior of this beautiful church here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10157316551800329&type=3

Clotheslines

Clotheslines

I have been taking pictures of clotheslines for many years and have quite a collection from all over the province.  When I first started uploading them to my website, I received calls for interviews from all across Canada.  They were very interested for a couple of reasons.  First, they were wondering if people around were upset about others hanging out their clothes.  Second, they were interested because it is an environmentally friendly and natural way of drying clothes and is environmentally friendly.  One interviewer asked if I had a clothesline in my yard.  I told her that I had 2 but the moose tore them down.  I bet a Toronto audience found that funny.

I have 6 Clothesline albums on Facebook.  Here is a link to the most recent - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10160438490580329&type=3

Southern Harbour

Southern Harbour

In 1999, I drove through Southern Harbour and took a few photos with slide film.  There were quite a few boats in the harbour at that time.  I have been there a few times over the years and you can view my photos in my Souther Harbour album on Facebook.
