Alligator










Alligator

 In the spring of 2004, my wife and I visited Wonder Gardens in Florida. I photographed one large alligator that certainly seemed to smile for the camera.   I later added my wife to one of the photos.  Captions welcome!!

Fishing

 This photo was taken in 1980 Sandy Point on the Exploits River near Norris Arm.  I got up early and I saw a young boy fishing.  I took several photos of him with the sun rising through the fog.  I always liked this photo which has been published as covers of 2 magazines.  It was taken in 1981.

This morning I happened upon a photo of an old house in Witless Bay that was taken in 1997.  I decided to share a photo of the same house taken in 2007.  In 10 years, someone purchased and restored the old house.  It was nice to see it.

Western Brook Park






Western Brook Park

 In August 2010, I visited Western Brook Pond Park and walked down to the beach to take a few photos.  I've been there several times previously and it was so windy the sand was blowing around.  I didn't want my camera full of sand, so I didn't stay long.  The footprints in the sand were there when we arrived.  We do have sandy beaches on the island of Newfoundland!!

Leaves








Leaves

It was early morning in September 2006 when I photographed leaves on my hydrangea.  The leaves were backlit and the light was highlighting the veins in the leaves.   If you have been following my daily photos for a while, you know that I enjoy photographing plants and flowers.  I have a Facebook Page where I share photos of flowers and plants, and if you enjoy that type of photo, feel free to like the page.  I upload flower photos every day and many people appreciate the colours this time of the year.

Quidi Vidi Village




Quidi Vidi Village

In May 2012, people flocked to the tiny community of Quidi Vidi Village to view 3 large icebergs that blocked the entrance to the "Gut", the name they affectionately called their little harbour.  

 Despite the fact that residents are snowed in right now, Spring Will Come!

Waikiki, Hawaii

 This was a good photo to choose for this morning - day 2 after the biggest snowstorm in recent history.  This brought back memories of our trip to Hawaii in 1980.  This photo was taken from our balcony on the 11th floor of the hotel on the beach.

 Hawaii was a beautiful place and I have many great memories of the 2 weeks we spent there.  I travelled the whole island a couple of times on The Bus.  I used to get off to take photos for a few hours, then catch the Bus back to the hotel.  I will create a Hawaii Album on Facebook soon.  :)
