Icebergs

Many icebergs (over 500) are on their way down "iceberg alley" and quite a few are already close to shore. Yesterday, despite the rain, drizzle and fog (RDF), I drove down to Quidi Vidi Village in St. John's to photograph an iceberg that has become grounded in the harbour.

The first photo gives you an idea how close the berg is to the entrance to the harbour. There was also a steady stream of people going out to photograph the iceberg. The second photo shows how the water is shaping the its surface and, the third photo shows another large iceberg in the distance just visible in the fog.

We are supposed to get sunshine later today and I hope to get more photos then. There are probably additional icebergs floating by in the fog that will be visible when the sun comes out.

I have seven Iceberg Galleries at:
