Blue-winged Teal 2

Blue-winged Teal 2

It is always exciting when I photograph a "new" species of bird that I had never seen before and when I spotted a few small ducks in a small pond, I just had to make a few photos before they flew away.  At first I thought they were ring-necked ducks, but when I looked more closely I realized they were a new species for me.

I watched these small ducks for quite a while and was able to predict when they would stand in the water and flap their wings.

Food

Food

There was a farm next to the gated community I stayed in while visiting Florida.  Not only could I get fresh food every day, I also had a place to make photos of fresh food.

Red Cardinal

Red Cardinal

While in Florida, I walked for an hour or so every day and, of course, I took my camera with me.  One morning I heard a red cardinal and spotted it sitting near the top of a tall tree.  I was able to zoom in and managed to make a few closer views.

Can you spot the bird in the last photo?

Easter Decorations

Easter Decorations

Today I am sharing photos of Easter decorations that were taken in my kitchen.    The sun was setting and took on an orange glow as it came through a window in our sunroom - approximately 10 feet (3 m) away.  I liked the shapes and textures as well as the colours.

Flowers 2

Flowers 2

Today I am sharing photos of flowers that were taken in my kitchen.  The lighting is different than in yesterday's images.  The sun was setting and took on an orange glow as it came through a window in our sunroom - approximately 10 feet (3 m) away.
