Stained Glass Windows 4

These are the last photos in this series. As I said before, I have photographed stained glass windows in churches all across Newfoundland and Labrador as well as in several churches in Europe. You can view my Churches Galleries at: http://www.lanephotography.com/churches/churches.htm

The photos today are displayed in the order they were taken, however, you can see the Easter Story if you look closely.

Stained Glass Windows 3

Stained Glass Windows 3
Immaculate Conception Cathedral
Grand Falls-Windsor

As you have seen over the past 3 days, the stained glass windows at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral are indeed works of art. As I continue with this series, imagine how much talent it takes to create the realistic images with pieces of glass.

Stained Glass Windows 2

Stained Glass Windows 2

Thanks for positive comments on the photos I shared that were taken yesterday here in Holyrood. Today I am returning to the Stained Glass Windows series.

No matter where I go, most of the time the stained glass windows are visual representations of stories from the Bible. I have photographed several that do not follow that format, but that is the subject of another series. :)

The reason is because in the middle ages, when many large churches were being built, most people could not read, so the stained glass windows told the important Bible stories and parishioners could "see" them in the windows and other art.

Fall Colours

Fall Colours

Earlier this morning I stopped to make a few photographs of fall colours here in Holyrood. I decided to interrupt the Stained Glass Series to share a few of the photos of Fall taken on October 28, 2015.

I am surprised that not all leaves have changed colour this late into the month of October. I suspect that a very windy day will take most of the leaves off the trees around here.
