I recently scanned several slides that I took in Amhearst Cove,, Bonavista Bay, in 1994 and I'll add them to my Amhearst Cove-Newman's Cove Album on Facebook over the next couple of days. If you know this area, you may be interested to see what it looked like nearly 20 years ago.

In 2003, I photographed all the communities along the Osprey Trail in the Isthmus of the Avalon Peninsula using my Olympus C2100UZ camera. A week later, I made the same trip again and made similar photos with my brand-new Canon 10D. My purpose was to compare the quality of the images from both cameras.
In my NEW Facebook album, I am posting the images side-by-side so you can view the difference. In this Blog, I haven't placed them side-by-side.

Last week, I shared photos of giraffes that I had taken in zoos I have visited, and today I am starting a new album in which I will share photos of Western Lowland Gorillas taken at the Calgary Zoo during a visit in 2010.
I have already created a similar album on my main page, however, since took all these photos while travelling, I decided to create this album with more and larger images.

A couple of months ago, I was invited to submit photos to a site that features minimalist photos of various subjects, one of which was cars. The admin of the page posts photos of cars and I started sharing some of mine. It became a game and he tries to match the photos I submit. It's a bit of fun for us, and other members of that page have also been uploading their photos of cars. :)

I often photograph barns wherever I go and have enough photos to start an album I will add photos daily for a while. I will add photos showing barns in excellent condition and some in poor shape.

In 1993, TeraNov Asbestos was actively mining asbestos from the tailings of the old mine. At that time, they were shipping out refined asbestos to customers. We videotaped the mining process for a series of videos on Mining in Newfoundland and Labrador. I took a few slides as we shot the video.
