Maple Leaves

Maple Leaves

This morning I landed on photos of maple leaves in Fall.  We are approaching the point where trees are beginning to sense the shorter days and cooler nights.  In fact, birches are beginning to change now.  Fall is a colourful season and I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy it!

Annapolis Royal

 Annapolis Royal

It was a very calm day in Annapolis Royal near the end of last October.  I am sharing photos taken across the harbour just to let you see how calm it really was.  If you would like to see other photos of this scenic town, click the link below:

Perry's Cove

Perry's Cove

Perry's Cove is located in Conception Bay and I have been there a few times over the years.  Today, I am sharing photos of two houses in the community.  A couple of photos of the yellow house are from 1998 and you can see that it is well-cared for.  The other house was abandoned in 2003.  It may be gone now.

Brook

Brook

A small brook runs through my back yard, and after a heavy rain, it sounds so good!  I spent a couple of years putting rocks along its banks, but it is growing in now and looks so natural.

Red-breasted Nuthatches

Red-breasted Nuthatches

I have been observing these beautiful little birds for quite a while.  They are so fast and move around so much that it is difficult to capture them.  I tried with my 300mm lens, but by the time I found them in my viewfinder, they were on the move.  I decided to stand by the tree they were on and, like most birds, they got used to me fairly quickly.  I used my 18-200 mm lens and was able to find them using the wide angle, then zoom quickly to focus on them.  I still had lots of photos without birds, but I managed to get a few.

I'll add these and others to my Nuthatches album over the next couple of days.

Italy

Italy

This morning I am sharing photos from the coast of Italy between Naples and Sorrento.  We did a tour of Sorrento and I was amazed at the beautiful scenery.  I was frustrated, because taking photos through a bus window is not the best way to photograph such beauty.  The driver did stop to let us take a few photos, which was great.  The first two photos today show Mount Vesuvius which looks like steam is coming from the volcano.  However, it is just the clouds.

Tulips Tulips are a sign of spring, but my tulip gardens are under a foot or two of snow. It will be a while before we see the beauty of the...
