Citrus Park 3

Those of you who have been on my Photo of the Day list for some time know that I have visited Citrus Park often over the past 10 years.  It is a gated community near Bonita Springs with around 3500 people from all over the US and Canada who want to escape the cold winters up north.

Today's photos were taken in mid-November, 2013 and show little blue herons, great blue herons, pied-billed grebes and an american anhinga.  As well, there are painted turtles, which were common around the park at that time.


The white bird is actually an immature little blue heron, though it is the same size as the adult.  I was surprised at how skittish the turtles were.  As soon as I stopped to take a photo, they would dive into the water very quickly.
