This is the last of the Rocky Mountain Series for now and I chose three close views of the mountains around the town of Banff. The photos, except for the last one, were taken from the top of Sulphur Mountain. The last time I was there, I witnessed a MEDIVAC of a lady who had fallen and broken her leg at the summit and a Canadian Helicopter pilot and crew rescued her and took her to the nearest hospital. You can check photos of this at: http://www.lanephotography.com/calgary/Banff/rescue1.htm
Someone mentioned that the mountains in Newfoundland do not have the peaks like those in the Rockies. Of course, the Applachian Mountains, the highest on the island, are 650 million years old and the Rockies were formed a mere 70 million years ago - babies in terms of mountain ranges! The Applachians, found in eastern North America, have been worn down after 650 million years of weathering and erosion.
