Tulips
This week we have had high winds and heavy rain, both of which devastated most of the tulips that were still in bloom and adding colour to my yard. I decided to photograph them to share what they looked like afterwards.
In many cases the weather had beaten all leaves from the plants leaving just the seed stalk, but in others the battered petals clung to the stalks. The third image shows a flower that had ended up in a horizontal position. A few flowers on which the flowers hadn't completely opened yet seemed to survive the weather a little better.
These tulips have been growing since very early in the spring and have survived the cold, frost, snow and winds, but this time, I guess the flowers were just about done for this season and you can see the result.
