Mountain - Holyrood

Holyrood

Yesterday was a beautiful day and, after working in my garden for a while, I decided to go for a walk to the mountain. I left around 1:50 PM and less than an hour later I was sitting at the peak, using my cell phone and asking my son to photograph me from his house. Fifty-five minutes to the top is probably a record for me, however, there are a couple of good reasons.

First, the black flies around here are BAD this time of the year and I didn't want to stop. As long as I kept moving, they didn't bother me. I knew it would be breezy enough on the top of the mountain to keep them away.

The second is that I've been hiking up there quite a lot over the past couple of months. I have probably been in the hills, not necessarily to the top, a couple of dozen times, and I am probably in better shape than I have been for quite a while.

After my son finished taking my photo, I found a spot where the breeze was nearly nonexistent and relaxed for a while. I have to admit, that the peace and quiet I felt there was good for the soul. Other than the sound of distant traffic and an occasional jet passing overhead, the only sounds I could hear were bees, flies and a few birds chirping. It was a beautiful and very peaceful way to spend an afternoon.

Afterwards, I made a few photos that I uploaded to my Blog this evening.  Feel free to share today's photos with family and friends
