St. Vincent's

St. Vincent's

St. Vincent's is another small community on the southern Avalon that is part of the amalgamated community of St. Vincent's-St. Stephen's-Peter's River. Like other communities along the Irish Loop, I have visited it several times over the years.

It is a great place to watch humpback whales as they feed on capelin in the early summer. It is also a place you may like to walk along the long beach to enjoy the waves breaking on the rocky shoreline. Of course, the scenery is also interesting.

You can check my updated St. Vincent's Gallery with 43 photos at: http://www.lanephotography.com/irish_loop/st_vincents/st_vincents.htm

If you stop to visit the Fishermen's museum, you can view a quilt designed by women from the area that highlights women's roles in the fishery over the years. You can view photos of the quilt at: http://www.lanephotography.com/objects/quilt/WOMEN_IN_THE_FISHERY_QUILT.htm
