Fortress Louisbourg 2

Fortress Louisbourg 2

The first house we visited was that of the town mayor in the mid-1700s.  As we entered the home there were three people to greet us.  It was a hot day and they were sitting by the window to keep cool.  They were in character and informed us what was happening in the community.

Remember, when archeologists discovered the fortress it had been destroyed completely by the British and had been under the ground for nearly 200 years.  The buildings and contents had to be reconstructed as they would have been in the 1700s.

Feel free to share with family and friends.
