Puffins

If you visit the Bonavista Peninsula add Elliston to your list of places to visit. A walk along a short trail will take you to the edge of a cliff where you can observe puffins at fairly close range. The images this morning were cropped from original photos.

There is a puffin in the first photo spreading its wings which adds a little action to the image. I tried to capture puffins in flight which is more difficult than it sounds. You have to be prepared to shoot fast when a puffin is ready to fly off the cliff, focus on the moving bird and take the photo. If the puffins are flying towards you, it is a little easier but you will still have to be very fast.
