Northern Gannets

Thanks for all your letters of congratulations on the birth of our grandson. The response was so overwhelming that I won't be able to respond to each person individually. We appreciate all your comments!

Today I chose to share photographs of northern gannets in flight. The images were made at Cape St. Mary's Bird Sanctuary on the southern tip of the Avalon Peninsula. I really like watching the gannets soaring above the steep cliffs as they approach and leave Bird Rock, just 30-50 feet away. If you haven't visited Cape St. Mary's, I recommend you add it to your places to visit on your next vacation to Newfoundland.

Feel free to check out an additional 30 photos of gannets at: http://lanephotography.com/gannets/gannets.htm
